Joe Biden's mother-in-law has died, according to the vice presidential candidate's campaign.

The Delaware senator is canceling all campaign events today and tomorrow.

Bonny Jacobs, Jill Biden's mother, had been sick for some time and lived in a hospice. She was 78.

Biden was scheduled to appear over the weekend in Virginia but canceled those visits to be with his family.
